Our mission

Our mission is simple – to give you the most authentic, relaxed, and memorable week of your year.

We believe sailing shouldn’t be complicated or exclusive. Sailing should be open to anyone who craves adventure, good food, honest connections, and the freedom of the open sea.

That’s why we’ve built CAYAsail around a carefully chosen catamarana small and passionate crew, and an all-inclusive experience that takes care of every detail – so you never have to think about anything except enjoying the moment.

Whether you’re watching dolphins off the bow at sunrise or sharing a meal in a hidden harbor at sunset, every day with us is designed to feel effortless, genuine, and completely your own.

Demos

“I’ve been traveling my whole life. I have lived in 5 countries and visited dozens more. While exploring this world, at separate times, we fell in love with sailing. And here we are today; sharing our passion, our purpose, with others. Blessed.”

Apart from his RYA Cruising Instructor and American Sailing Bareboat Cruising instructorand RYA Yachtmaster Offshore (commercially endorsed), Demos holds a BSc in Geology and an MSc in Environmental Protection. He lived and worked in several countries, including Greece, Scotland, Cyprus, Australia and Spain. He has traveled extensively and changed his whole career path, to devote himself to his passion; sailing for that horizon. Demos speaks English, Greek and Spanish. An experienced captain with thousands of miles under his belt, a qualified sailing instructor, the person we go to for any problem we encounter.

Belen

“I started my career as a total bookworm spending hours and hours in the library trying to discover the paths of the ancients. After studying texts, charts, and constellations I found myself on the Ocean, following the routes of the ancients…. Quite literally!”

Belen is an archaeologist specialized in the study of astronomy related to the ancient peoples of the Mediterranean. Her research took her from excavation to excavation, from island to island, always looking for the link between land, seas, and skies. That’s how her love for sailing, made her change her course in life. Belen speaks Spanish, Greek, English, French, Italian and a few more languages, ancient and modern. She has sailed between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic and is a sailor and an instructor of the “story telling” type.

George

“I’m George, a skipper and sailing instructor, and I can’t imagine life without it. Sailing is more than just a job for me—it’s a passion. Whether I’m guiding a crew through open waters or teaching new sailors how to harness the wind, I love sharing the thrill and freedom that comes with life on the water. I have logged tens of thousands of miles at sea and my one and only goal being to make sailing fun, safe, and unforgettable for everyone who steps on board”

Apart from holding an RYA Yachtmaster (commercially endorsed) and an RYA cruising instructor status, George also has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering. He has travelled extensively around Europe and many more other places around the world, including Thailand, where he lived for a while practicing his skills in Muay Thai (the art, not the cocktail)! He speaks fluent Greek and English, and a bit of German.

Daniela

I am Daniela from Switzerland. I love movement, but I love flowing movement even more! Whether it’s sports outside in nature, pole dancing or classic strength and endurance exercises, I’m into it.

I started practicing yoga more than a decade ago. I became more flexible and was able to better protect myself from injury. With each lesson I felt more and more that yoga helps me in my mind as well. I became calmer and more balanced.

By now, yoga is firmly anchored in my life and daily routine. Yoga comes in different forms and I believe we should all be allowed to find the kind that suits us best. Thus, my yoga classes are varied and flowy.

I like to play with inversions and give you useful tips and tricks about body and mind while practicing. While our skipper takes us on a voyage of discovery of hidden Greek bays, I take you on a journey of discovery to your personal yoga flow at the retreat.

The centerpiece from me to you in the retreat will be a Special 90 min Inside Flow class. This is a special form of Yoga where breath and movement merge. Together we will build our Inside Flow and flow through a choreography of asanas to a song.

Only love; always.

Darren

“I always had the urge to travel more and further. During my travels, I have met many amazing and interesting people. Between them, Demos – a.k.a. The Legend. During our friendship, we realised that we share (between of many other things) love for the ocean and sailing. The rest is history”.

Darren holds a RYA Cruising Instructor and American Sailing Bareboat and RYA Yachtmaster Offshore (commercially endorsed) status. He has lived and worked in England, Italy, USA and UAE. He has traveled in many different parts of the world, feeding his wanderlust with countless experience and adventures. Through his travels, he felt in love with the sea and sailing. He speaks English and Italian. Our man with the kind manners.

Joana

“My life took a turn the day I decided to leap into the unknown – I left my old life behind to follow my passion for cooking and explore the world. Seeking adventure, I stepped aboard a sailing boat for the first time with almost no sailing experience and instantly fell in love with the lifestyle. The freedom of being on the water, moved by the wind, is the feeling that keeps me coming back season after season.”

Born and raised under Portugal’s sunny skies, Joana grew up in the lively Atlantic waves but found her heart in the calm Mediterranean shores. With a background in Arts and Design and a degree in Hospitality & Hotel Management, she gathered years of experience across different departments in luxury hotels before trading her corporate career for life at sea.

In the galley, Jo found the perfect space for her creativity to flow – combining flavours, textures, and colours to craft dishes that reflect both her artistry and the character of each destination. After travelling and moving around a lot, she feels most at home in the Mediterranean, where inspiration is endless and the sea always calls her back.

Always ready to slip off the boat and explore after docking, Jo is the one to trust for uncovering hidden gems – from the tastiest local taverna and the creamiest gelato to the best sunset lookout or a peaceful hiking trail to reconnect with nature.
